Loaves and Fishes
St. Andrew's houses the busiest Loaves and Fishes food pantry in the city. Loaves and Fishes provides a week's worth of groceries to families in need. Phyllis Lackie has been voluntarily in
charge for over seven years. The pantry supplies qualified families a
one-week supply of food along with a smile. The pantry is open on
Wednesdays and Thursdays from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM.
A lot of work happens long before the doors open. Every Tuesday, Phyllis and volunteers prepare for clients. On the first and third Tuesdays two deliveries come from the Loaves and Fishes' local organization. The Pantry's 7 refrigerators/freezers are used to the max. This all happens because of Phyllis' hard work and volunteers from St. Andrew's and other local churches.

Young at Heart
The Young at Heart (YAH) group is for our Church members 55 years and older. We meet every Thursday at noon and enjoy a lunch provided by volunteers at a cost of $1.50.
This is a social group whose sole purpose is to meet and enjoy each other's company. Occasionally someone volunteers to provide entertainment/recreation for us which is always welcome. Please join us for lunch.
Shepherds
What happens when we don't see someone on Sunday? Each member has a shepherd who keeps watch over their little band of members. If you are not seen, your shepherd will call or write just to see how you are doing. The shepherd also sends a birthday card. Of course, a member may also call their shepherd if they have a question or need some information about "goings on" at church.
All the shepherds meet for a meal and take time to update information. Shepherds sign on for one year at a time. Signing up and retiring are equally celebrated.
If you would like to talk about being a shepherd please talk with The Rev. Leslie Burkhardt and she will introduce you to Frank and Ruth, the leaders of the flock.
